First of all, to everyone who has supported me, financially and emotionally, I hope you know how much it means to me. This is the most important thing I have ever done. I put off writing this blog all weekend because I just cannot find the words to express the extent of my gratitude. From the bottom of my heart, from every cell and subatomic particle in my body, THANK YOU.
As I prepare for this adventure, I am overwhelmed with every possible emotion. And we all know how good I am at keeping my emotions inside. That was joke. Clare is a cryer. But aside from any tears that might come out because I am going to miss my amazing friends and family so much, the rest are tears are tears of appreciation. I just cannot believe how lucky I am. I am so completely humbled by how so many people came together to make this a reality. You are all a part of this.
Departure date: February 8th! I can’t believe it! It still doesn’t feel real. My cousin Tim will be picking me up from the airport in Monrovia and we will be going back to Kakata where he lives for the night, and heading to Robertsport the next day. I’m so excited to see Tim’s big ol’ smile! I will be updating this blog all the time while I am there. I cannot wait to meet all of the incredible people I will be working with!
